Quest New Mexico Layoffs
More than 100 people at Quest Diagnostics will be losing their jobs too.
Quest is a New Jersey company that bought SED Medical Labs from Lovelace last month.
Tuesday, they said they will lay off 125 people, a quarter of its New Mexico workforce.
The layoffs will happen over the next six months.
Most of the work done at quest’s main lab near I-25 and Jefferson is where drug and breath alcohol testing are done.

This is GREAT NEWS; Quest tests people forced into those 12-Step religious cult treatment programs; VERY EVIL COMPANY!
Yes, I work for Quest Diagnostics and we are an Evil Medical Information Cult which provides your medical team with information which helps them keep you healthy. And we make a tidy profit in the process. Yes it is a profit scheme. Baawaahaaahhaaaa!!!!!
I don’t believe you are a cult. I also don’t believe that you are committed to New Mexico. When my routine lab results take an extra week due to shipping everything out of state, and 125 workers are laid off, I’m strangely unable to see any benefit to the citizens of this state. No doubt you make a tidy profit. Goody-goody for you.
Quest Diagnostics is taking the bulk of the SED lab testing business that is done in New Mexico and are going to ship it to Denver CO for processing. This action is resulting in 125 well paying jobs lost and future jobs lost. This hurts the New Mexico economy just so Quest Diagnostics can make more profit and eliminate their competition. This also hurts the patients of New Mexico who will have to wait for their blood or other tests to be shipped to Denver.
