Snow, ice and rain. Mixed weather bag for NM Sunday
Snow is falling in many locations in New Mexico from Chama to Roswell.
Albuquerque had a quick burst of snow with light accumulations Sunday morning. There have been many reports of car accidents and fender benders due to icy spots on the interstates. Please use caution.
Snow will continue in northern and northwest NM with 2-6 inches possible for locations in the southern San Juan Mountains. Elevations of 7500 feet and above could see upwards of eight inches of snow with higher totals reserved for Southern Colorado.
Southeast NM will continue with snow showers Sunday as well. Sleet and freezing rain are also possible with Sunday’s precipitation. A couple inches of snow could fall in places like Hobbs.
Many locations in central and SW NM can expect rain and maybe even a thunderstorm Sunday afternoon.
Snow and rain will slow by the late evening hours. Some snow showers could remain Monday in the north, but more unsettled weather is expected for Tuesday.
Please be safe on the roads and have a great weekend!
