Such a deal: shelter discounts cats

The La Plata County Humane Society has such an abundance of adult cats needing homes it’s continuing to discount the adoption price by more than half to $20.

The society’s cattery in Durango is so full some of the 60 cats are housed in a back room, according to a statement released today.

The society first discounted the $49 adoption price in November.
