Most-congested roads cross river

While you may already know this from experience, a new report finds the Top 5 most-congested roads in metro Albuquerque all cross the Rio Grande.

The report from the Mid-Region Council of Governments titled “A Profile in Congestion” uses 2010 data to quantify the 30 most-congested traffic corridors in the agency’s Albuquerque Metropolitan Planning Area.

The Top 5 in order are:

  1. Alameda Boulevard
  2. Montaño Road
  3. Paseo del Norte Boulevard
  4. Bridge and Cesar Chavez boulevards
  5. U.S. Highway 550/N.M. 165 in Bernalillo and Rio Rancho

The report gives one-page profiles of each of the corridors identifying segements of minor to severe congestions.
