House takes up driver’s license bill
The state House this afternoon is debating competing bills on repealing or amending the law that allows illegal resident immigrants to obtain driver’s licenses.
One bill approved by a House committee would repeal the law outright.
A second bill to tighten the existing law remains alive after a motion to table it failed on a tie vote at about 2:45 p.m.
