APS online transfer system fails

The online system parents can use to transfer their kids to other Albuquerque schools is down until at least Monday and has lost information input this morning.

The problem was revealed by the Albuquerque Public Schools this afternoon.

Today was the first day to apply for transfers, and anyone filing an online application today will have to do so again when the system is back in operation.

The application process is open until March 15 with applications sorted under a lottery process as required by state law, according to APS.  They are not processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Applications received after March 15 will be sorted later.

APS is still taking transfer requests in person at the APS Student Service Center, 6400 Uptown NE, Suite 100 West.

Additional information is available from the service center at 855-9050 or 855-9040.
