Pink fire truck rolling into AlbuquerqueNovember 3rd, 2011 at 1:28 pm by Bill Diven under Community Affairs
The Pink Heals Tour rolls into Albuquerque Friday for an event recognizing cancer survivors and to generate support for cancer research and treatment.
Participants also will be able to sign the Pink Heals fire truck, one of several used in the national campaign that began three years ago with a retired firefighter and one donated fire truck in Glendale, Ariz.
The Albuquerque stop is scheduled for 10:15 a.m. at the StayBridge Suites, 5817 Signal NE off Interstate 25 near Alameda Boulvard and San Pedro Drive.
“The Albuquerque Fire Department is a proud supporter of the Pink Heals Tour in their effort to increase awareness and raise money for cancer treatments and research,” Fire Chief James Breen said in a statement released today. “Come out to support this event by signing a fire truck in honor of a loved one that has been affected by cancer.”
Additional information on the national program is available from the Pink Fire Trucks website.
